New global HQ for leading aerospace components manufacturer

Background

Meggitt PLC is a FTSE 100 global company specialising in components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets. In 2019 they first contacted us about tendering for the provision of furniture and design services for their new global headquarters that was under construction in Ansty Park, Coventry. They wanted to bring together a number of their operations in the UK under one facility to combine the company’s aircraft braking systems, control systems, customer services and support and corporate shared services departments.

The project

The aims for the project were to deliver a working environment that is capable of delivering a world-class service 24/7 to both the Meggitt and global commercial customers whilst creating an environment that supports the need to attract and retain skilled talent.

We were successful in the tender, choosing furniture and finishes which contributed to the overall scheme and helped to:

  • convey a high-quality, precise, engineered environment
  • create an environment that is bright, open, contemporary, people focussed and uncluttered
  • show refined furniture and finishes that had interesting texture and were chosen with quality in mind
  • convey a sense of dynamism within the collaboration and sharing spaces
  • enable staff to create their best in a workplace that supports their needs in the variety of tasks they carry out
  • create a restaurant with a look and feel that was more organic and fluid than the rest of the site, with vibrant colours and curvaceous shapes to echo the dramatic ceiling features

The install was completed in June 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic having delayed completion for two months.

The results were a state of the art new global headquarters with a world-class aerospace engineering and technology environment for up to 1,000 of its employees.
